St. Nicholas Day

In Germany and many other European countries, today is St. Nicholas Day. I have heard that he is the patron saint of children, bakers, and seamen. We lived in a very Catholic part of Germany when I was younger so we too celebrated St. Nicholas Day. This year I thought it would be fun to celebrate with Kate. Supposedly the children put their shoes outside and that night St. Nicholas will come by. If the children have been good, he will fill the shoes with gifts. If the children have been bad, he will fill the shoes with twigs. Luckily Kate was been very good. :)
