Memorial Day weekend fun

We are so thrilled to have our friends Rhett and Kelley visiting us from hot Tucson this weekend! We have had a great time catching up and having a great time hanging out with our many Tech friends. :)

Saturday night we joined the Lawrences with some of Kelley's former co-workers at the Zoo for Symphony under the Stars. The NM Symphony plays 3 concerts a year at the zoo. It's a great way to hear the symphony when you have a family. :) This concert was their Stars and Stripes tribute. We weren't sure how Kate would handle it since she took a very early nap and even after the pool she didn't take an afternoon nap. The concert started at 8 and we got home around 11 PM. Kate did wonderfully! She was absolutely fascinated by the music, instruments (drums) and especially the conductor. She liked to imitate him. :)
Kate has gotten over her fear of "Uncle" Rhett. She used to cry whenever she saw him when she was little and they babysat her. At the zoo, she jumped on him. :)Sunday we all slept in, and that evening we all went to Mike and Tiffany's house for dinner. It was delicious and we were able to enjoy their newly landscaped backyard. After dinner, we went to the their local park. Kate wasn't the only one enjoying the equipment. The boys (Chris, Rhett, Matt and Mike) had silly time, too. We wives agreed, it was great to see them all smiling and enjoying themselves. It was like they were back at Tech. :) I swear they scared off the families that were enjoying the park but maybe it was just getting dark and time for most kids to go to bed.

Rhett, Chris, Mike and Matt playing gladiators. That happened most of the time at the park.

The park has these spinning seats. The boys thought they were great fun. They'd spin around get really dizzy and then try to run. They competed to see how long one could stay on before they felt sick or fell off.

Kate thought the seats were fun too. She is definitely her daddy's daughter!

It was fun hanging out with our New Mexico family. :) Kate enjoyed her time with all her "Aunts and Uncles."
