It has been a wonderful first week at Kate's new school. In 3 days she has two new girlfriends, Danielle and Olivia S. they play dress up and do everything together. When I picked her up on today, they were playing dinosaur train.
Everyday Kate has show and tell. Wednesday she brought in her dinosaur that came with her new PJS and today she showed her dinosaur fossil shirt. They have show and tell everyday so that they practice public speaking. Ms. Sherry, her teacher, is like me. She can speak to a huge group of kids, but give us the adults and we clam up! She has already decided that Monday she is bringing her new little Merida doll.
Kate has only 10 kids in her class which is wonderful. There is a special needs little boy whom they all love and adore and don't care that he has downs. I love it!
This week Kate worked on the letters Bb, Dd and Qq because they look alike. Kate is excited because she has homework, practice making the letters with clay. Today Kate sat with Ms. Sherry twice during reading rotation. They are practice the sight words "the" and "is." Kate said she will look for those words in our books, too.
My big girl is growing up so fast!
