Little Scientist

Kate is such a curious child and have such a desire to learn! Sometimes it's hard to forget that she is only 2 1/2 when she talks about how the burners that heat the air and make the hot balloons go up in the air or when she discusses the various parts of a space shuttle.

I finally took Kate back to Explora. It had been a year since we were last there, and this time she was definitely ready for it. We spent 2 1/2 busy hours in there exploring various things. Some were way above her understanding and others keep her interest.

It took a while to get her to move from the first thing where she could sit and watch balls moving through a "mouse trap."She loved playing in the water area where she explored fluid dynamics.
While the other areas may not of held her interest for long. she did like seeing herself in the many many mirrors. I guess this is what our life would look like if she was s multiple!
They have a playground outside and Kate loves going down the conveyor belt slide!
Upstairs they had a huge tub of bubbles and we both had fun playing with the huge wands! After that museum, we headed across the street so I could pick up membership information at the Natural History Museum. Within 5 minutes she had me talked into going in there too. We spent 45 minutes just in the small space room where she could look at the space shuttle displays and of course her favorite, Mars Rover! If you want here is the video that that have going and we have no watched at home countless times.Yep, we have a scientist in the making!
