We went after lunch (enough time for the school groups to leave) and spend about 90 minutes in just 2 exhibits!! Kate thought it as funny that Stan the T. Rex in the lobby was dressed up for Halloween. He's a Viking!
Kate immediately headed upstairs to the dinosaur exhibit. She walked in and immediately recognized the stegosaurus. While we waited for the volunteer to get the key for the hands on cart, Kate was amazed at the size of the foot and leg bone of the brachiosaurus. She even counted his 5 toe bones. 
When the cart was opened, Kate was able to feel the dinosaur skin, touch spike and plate from a stegosaurus and feel the very end of the tail bones from a seimosaurus. Such a small part of the tail and it was almost as big as her. :)
In another part of the exhibit, there was a microscope. Kate really enjoyed looking through it even though we couldn't see anything on the slide.
She thought it was pretty funny that there were fossilized dinosaur stinkies to study, too.
The other section that Kate loved was Space. There is a full sized replica of the Mars Rover and a 10-15 minute video showing the launch and what is does on the surface of Mars. She watched that video 3 times!! She was riveted. 
all the home, I heard about the parts of the spaceship breaking off, the fire from the rockets, the rover rolling on the ground and the camera that takes pictures. There is a working joystick that controls the camera on the model. She thought she was hot stuff moving it around. 
Maybe we have a future NASA Engineer. :)
Outside, Kate has fun posing with the triceratops and allosaurus statues.
She is already asking to go back so I think we will try to go again next week while it's still free. :)
