Fly Through the Sky!

Kate has an obsession with airplanes. She loves them! Every night we read Byron Barton's Airport. Kate can tell you all the parts of the plane and the procedure of getting to the airport to getting on the plane. (OK, this is also practice for when we fly to IL this fall). She just loves planes! (I guess Great Grandpa Oosta is smiling down from heaven at us!)

Every time we go to town, Kate looks for airplanes. On our way home from town today I decided to make a detour to the airport. She decided to watch the planes take off instead of land. Kate was so thrilled! We saw 4 airplanes take off and one land!

We watched this Southwest plane until it took off. Sadly we missed the loading of the cargo hold. She loves pointing that part out in the book! She loved watching the plane back out, roar its engines, and take off!
Welcome to Albuquerque, Delta airplane!
She is singing her favorite Wiggles song, Fly through the Sky, at the beginning of this video as the plane lands.

This is Kate singing the song in the car on our way to Albuquerque last week. Don't worry, Chris is driving while I filmed her. :)

They had an adorable picnic table in the shape of an airplane. Kate loved sitting on the nose and pretending to be a pilot. :)
So if you every fly to Albuquerque, know that Kate is watching the sky for your plane and she is always happy to welcome you to Albuquerque!
