Wednesday we spent the day in the yard. Mom helped get rid of the rest of the grass in the play area, and we got the sandbox put out finally. Sadly it was too windy until this morning to play in the sandbox. She loves it though! Dad was busy reinforcing the fence (again) for Lolly can't escape. She is now secured until we can get a new wooden fence as soon as some more landscapers return our calls.
Thursday we had a horrible wind storm (gusts up to 60 mph) so we stayed home and inside all day. Kate had fun sorting beads into her little egg carton with Oma. Kate would count "1, 2, 3" over and over again. She did that for nearly 25 minutes!

Kate and Opa played trains, too.

Kate was obsessed with our vacuum again so dad gave her a lesson about it. She now knows how to take apart the vacuum and turn on the switches. Of course she still runs away when it's turned on but at least we no longer cry as soon as it's on. As dad says, I will now have to check every component of the machine before I use it!

Friday we headed up to ABQ for some shopping! Kate now has a spring/summer wardrobe from Children's Place. Certainly bright colors with season but she looks adorable! (The egg hunt outfit done in our yard was from that trip.) After lunch at Pei Wei's we went to Toys R Us where Opa and Oma picked up several new sand toys.

We looked at the children's vacuums and for the first time Kate was actually not scared of them! She actually wanted to look at it and play with it! So guess what, I bought her one! She now has a Dirt devil that looks a little bit like ours. She has had fun using it and comparing hers to mine. We had them side by side and Kate would point to hers and say "Mine" and then point to mine and says "Yours." Even today she is still looking at both machines and has even asked me to turn mine on although she runs to the couch and peeks over at it. It's progress!!
